Nicolas Béguin was recently invited by the Geneva Bar Association to discuss recent case law on private international law.

On that occasion various topics were addressed such as legal capacity to enter into forum selection clauses, jurisdiction by necessity doctrine, denomination of currency in the prayers for relief in an international context, place of performance of a contractual obligations under the Lugano Convention, limitation period applicable to claims deriving from a foreign judgment, and recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments by Swiss Criminal Authorities.
