Nicolas Béguin advises and represents clients mainly in banking and finance law, in particular in relation to banking contracts, financial services, financial products, data protection and anti-money laundering regulations. Additionally, he conducts internal investigation on specific fact findings and regulatory issues upon instructions from supervisory authorities.
He also has extensive expertise in corporate law, corporate finance as well as M&A transactions (share/asset deals, MBOs/LBOs), across a wide range of industries, including the financial, the technology and the medical sectors.
Nicolas regularly represents clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings. His practice includes attachment and provisional measures proceedings, shareholders disputes and banking litigation, FINMA enforcement proceedings as well as administrative criminal proceedings under the financial market acts. He also represents clients in arbitration proceedings (ICC/SAC).
Nicolas Béguin is a member of the board of directors of the European Society for Banking and Financial Law (AEDBF Europe).
He is a member of the Geneva Bar Examination Commission, the Geneva Bar Civil Law Commission and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA). He also lectures at the CAS Compliance in Financial Services.
